The attached photos above shows the actual scenario of teachers teaching students inside the classroom.
Based on my observations in my assigned school, teachers uses different strategies in teaching their students. Like in the second photo, it shows how Ibu Eni ends her class. Although she uses traditional method in teaching, she is still incorporating games which is seen in the picture. She gave a marker to the student and then the marker will be passed around until the music stops. Afterwards, the student who’s holding the marker will be the one to answer the questions of Ibu Eni which is a good thing. Because incorporating games during the lesson will help students be more enthusiastic, active in the learning practice, and be able to learn at the same time. I also observed other teachers and I think they are all the same in terms of their method in teaching. They are all using traditional method because they are the one who’s giving the information to students. However, it is not a bad thing to use traditional method in teaching as long as your students are learning. I suggest that even though they are teaching for a very long time, student-centered approach can still be incorporated or can be mixed with the traditional method.
